What JustYourText is

JustYourText is a set of 25 free text tools: word and character counters, case converters, line sorting and cleanup, text comparison and a few generators. Every tool runs in your browser, updates as you type and needs no sign-up.

How it's funded

Pages show a small number of clearly labeled ads. That's how every tool stays free, with no sign-up and no limits.

Your text

The text you type, paste or open from a file is processed by JavaScript in your browser. It isn't sent to our server, stored or logged, and it's gone when you close or reload the page. Pages are measured with Google Analytics and ads come from advertising partners; neither receives the text you work on. See the privacy policy for details.

How the tools work

The counters, converters and line tools follow simple rules that are explained on each tool's page: for example, a contraction such as “don't” is one word, an emoji is one character, and a sentence ends at a period, question mark or exclamation mark followed by a space. Text Compare uses the Myers diff algorithm, the approach behind tools such as git diff. Title Case follows AP or Chicago style rules for small words.

Rule-based tools can disagree with other software on edge cases, such as URLs, unusual abbreviations or a title's grammar. Check results where precision matters, like a strict word limit or a legal document. See all text tools, the privacy policy and terms of service.
