Case Converter: what to know
The case converter changes text to any of twelve cases with one click: Sentence case, lower case, UPPER CASE, Title Case, Capitalized Case, aLtErNaTiNg cAsE, InVeRsE CaSe, and the programming cases camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case and CONSTANT_CASE.
Text cases keep your spacing, punctuation and line breaks exactly as they were. Title Case follows AP style by default (Chicago is available) so short words such as 'of' and 'the' stay lowercase, and Sentence case capitalizes the start of each sentence and the pronoun 'I'.
The programming cases turn each line into one identifier: words are split on spaces, punctuation and existing case changes ('XMLHttpRequest' becomes xml_http_request), then joined in the chosen style. Paste a column of names to convert them all at once.
Popular uses
- Fixing text typed with Caps Lock on
- Formatting headlines and document titles
- Renaming variables, database columns or CSS classes
- Making playful aLtErNaTiNg text for chats
Tips for the best result
- Accented and non-English letters convert correctly in every case.
- Title Case keeps acronyms such as NASA and brand names such as iPhone as typed.
- For code, check that converted identifiers don't start with a digit if your language forbids it.
